PHOTOGRAPHERS
Char Barton - Best Friends - venturing out with the goal of showing the true concept of amity, my project endeavours to illuminate on moments of embrace, affection, relaxation and joy found through honest interactions. Implementing a spontaneous style but also with slight structure, my project involves a documentary style interview process of asking questions about the subjects friendship to produce natural reactions encapsulated through photographs.
Luke Gregory - Providence - My project explores the disconnection of human communication – people’s ability to communicate online, but not face to face. My photos aim to question what would happen if people who can’t communicate in real life were put into a primal situation, like a ritualistic dance, but can’t see each other due to their lack of communication.
Ellen Faye Harding - Our Impact - My final major project is about endangered species and our overall impact on their survival. This project will consist of a series of portraits containing masks of endangered animals. I have chosen this project idea to create a fantasy like effect using special effects make-up, because I hope this will make people want to do something about the issues of our animals' species.
Zoe Harris - ‘Wading through Water’ - Wading Through Water aims to encapsulate the complex feelings of DPDR (Depersonalisation/Derealisation) through the medium of photography. The project focuses on the dissociative feeling, and the mental barriers it can cause in day-to-day life, alongside how my personal experience can/has affected me as a person.
Josh Lomen - ‘Somerset Willow Farmers’ - The Somerset Willow Farmers is a documentary project that explores the day to day working lives of the traditional willow farmers at Musgrove Willows. The aim of this project is to highlight the traditional craft that Somerset is known for as well as preserve the craft through the use of Imagery.
Abbie Lowe - ‘All Falls Quiet ‘- This is a project about grief. Over the year of 2023, I had many deaths in my family. Photography got me through the tough times. I couldn’t describe my feelings in words so I took pictures instead.
Dimitrios Panagiotopoulos - Imperative - This project focuses on the importance of recycling. It explores how our daily shopping habits contribute to the generation of a significant amount of waste, and emphasises how making small adjustments to these routines can effectively reduce waste. By raising awareness and promoting sustainable practices, we can work towards creating a more environmentally friendly future.
A glimpse at some of the work going to be shown.
