COMPOSITION

Composition refers to the way elements of a scene are arranged in a camera frame.  Shot composition refers to the arrangement of visual elements to convey an intended message.

When thinking about how we want to film our scenes we should consider, what is it we want to capture, portray, visualise. Thinking about the feeling, mood, themes we want to emphasize. There are some ‘rules’ we can use as a guide, the videos and links below offer some ideas and guidance.
