Bio
Jimmy is a filmmaker and film academic.
In the spring of 2015 his debut feature film was released nationally in UK cinemas. High Tide, starring Melanie Walters (Submarine, Gavin and Stacey) and Sam Davies (Dr Who), was shot on location in Swansea and Gower. He has delivered guest lectures at a number of Uk and European HE institutions, including: Queen Mary University, London; University of Cork; Kins College, London; Leeds University; and the University of Birmingham.
His research interests include American Independent Cinema, Film Aesthetics, Melodrama, European Art-House Cinema, and Feminist Film Theory. He has a number of book and journal publications, including most recently a chapter in the Wiley-Blackwell published A Companion to Luis Bunuel.
