About Me
My name is Brodie Thompson. I am currently studying Film & Media at University Centre Weston. I am Currently on my First Year as of 15/05/2025) and on to my Second Year.
As a Child i yearned for media. i was always making videos on youtube as a kid and as a teenager i made machinima movies.
I then went into Level 2 Media in 2021 when i graduated from secondary school into college. I then did the Level 3 Course in 2022. I met some good people on the courses 2 of them being amazing people.
I then went on to this course as well with a few people from 3 and met new people on the course as well. My creative mind is still unraveling and i hope to create new ideas in the future.

Year 1 (2024-25)
Everyday Activity - Film Production Skills
A short film for the first brief of the year, ‘Everyday Activity’ where we had to make a short (at maximum running time of less than five minutes) film. I decided to do making a cuppa with the twist of neo-noir.
Documentary Production
This is the second production i did for the course year and it was a documentary. It’s about wellbeing and how it’s done, It also shows a bit of history
THE BARROW CURSE - GROUP PROJECT
The Barrow Curse is about three teenagers going out camping in an area known for mysterious monsters. I was the clapperboard guy for the project. As well as a helping hand
EXPERIMENTAL MEDIA ARTS PROJECT
A short film that I created for my experimental module. This film is an analogue horror which is recorded digitally, then recorded on vhs. a lot of the genre is digitally edited but this one is almost pure analogue bliss
YEAR 2 (2025-26)
Dirigo 12
This is the branding for Dirigo that i did for its 12th Annual Film Festival, I was in charge of making the trailers for the festival as well which follows the same pattern as the first trailer in the video except it tells information about the festival rather than the rules of the festival (e.g submission dates and when the festival is as well as vital information about the festival).
Curtain Call
This was Curtain Call, this is our group project that consisted of Gary, Me, Josh and Jess. The Short film is about these theatre actors surviving the night in a theatre where a killer is on the loose named the “Phantom of the Loxton”. I was the Director of Photography on this project as well as the Editor and i also helped out on a lot of Pre-Production, including the Shot and Equipment List, The Script Breakdown, The Shooting Schedule and Contacting Actors. I filmed the entire movie with a “Sony FX6” with a Samyang Lens Kit.
NEO-INTERLUDE
This was my first project filmed on film, i always wanted to experiment with the format of film and i decided to start off small with Super 8 Film as it was cheap meaning i can afford to mess up. Due to the camera not working in the first half, the first half is digital only rather than all film, but the second half is all Super 8 (including the duck shot where it was exclusively film).
PART 2 OF THE CUBE SHOWCASE
I helped edit Part Two of the Cube Showcase for 2026 which included Neo Interludes in the beginning, inbetween other projects and the end of the part, I also included a 1 second gap inbetween to not instantly go into the next project without any breathing space. This was a relatively easy project as i had to just compile the movies together but it does show my roles in other collaborative projects
