Engine Room Workshop

FdA Film & Media Arts Production students visited The Engine Rooms, Bridgwater today for a workshop. Learning about opportunities in the region, Work Experience  with Somerset Film and   got stuck in making their own Zoetrope films.

Expanded Cinema & Photography workshop at The Cube

at The Cube Cinema Microplex & Bristol City Museum & Art Gallery

Meeting time: 10AM/ Bristol Bus Station.

Richard/ Jimmy will meet you there. Walk to the Cube Cinema (5 mins easy walking just up from the bus station towards Stokes Croft).

Bring: A Camera. At the Cube Cinema there will be a variety of activities on offer during the day, including insights in to how The Cube is run, film screenings and expanded cinema workshop. For the photographers, The Cube and its surroundings also offers a great opportunity as a location for photo shoots, excellent fuel for UAL/ UNIT 7.

Bring a packed lunch or lunch money as there will be opportunity to stroll over to Stokes Croft to explore this vibrant arts quarter.

3pm: Bristol City Museum & Art Gallery Jeremy Deller exhibition: English Magic.

For the British Pavilion at the 55th International Art Exhibition – la Biennale di Venezia, artist Jeremy Deller presented the exhibition English Magic. This now forms the summer exhibition at the city museum where Jeremy gives us an off-the-wall vision of England.

You can expect scrapyards, street parades, Bowie vs The Troubles, an inflatable Stonehenge, birds of prey and a giant Morris with Abramovich's boat – all set to a steel drum soundtrack of David Bowie, A Guy Called Gerald and Vaughan Williams.
