Work on Walls

Today the second year students had their work on walls as they shared some of their outcomes for the first quick turn around brief of the year. The project requires them to bring landscape, still life and portrait images together to create a cohesive set of images to begin exploring methods of print and online presentation.

After several weeks of delivery it's always exciting to see the work coming back from the students.

We’re already two weeks into term and have been making the most of the last days of sunshine. Work is well underway and the first year students have made a promising start to the technical modules learning to use large format cameras to create paper negatives to digitise, marrying the old with the new.

Last week we visited Lacock Abbey in Wiltshire to have a look at the Fox Talbot Museum to see the first photographic negative and of course to take some pictures...

After a relentless fortnight of lectures, seminars and workshops we’re going to give them some time to make some work! More soon.
