The exhibition and awards was at Cube Microplex in Bristol alongside Dirigo International Student Film Festival on Friday 2nd February 2024. The exhibition will continue at We are Super Studios, in the Sovereign Centre, Weston super Mare, (dates and times tbc).

We intend to also include a selection of work from each of the photographers that submitted work to Embrace - UCW Photo Awards. Thanks to all of you who submitted your photographs.

Dates & Deadlines

  • October 10, 2023 - Opening Date

  • November 17, 2023 - Earlybird Deadline

  • December 8, 2023 - Regular Deadline

  • January 5, 2024 - Late Entry

  • January 15, 2024 - Notification Date

  • February 2, 2024 - Event Date - now at Cube Microplex in Bristol. Note: Venue & Date change.

    This years theme is Embrace. We used Film Freeway for submissions. Entries are now closed for this year.

    You could enter any Image (maximum of 3 images per entry) that says something about our theme 'Embrace' - whether this be mental, physical or metaphorical, the choice is yours. This award is open to all ages and abilities with separate categories aimed at schools, colleges/sixth forms and an open call.

    Selected Images from the shortlist will be professionally printed and displayed as part of a curated exhibition at The Cube Microplex in Bristol. (Note, change of venue and date)

    This photography awards is produced and organised by The Photography & Visual Cultures (BA Hons) students from University Centre Weston, with support from Royal Photographic Society. Thanks to Liz Williams (Education Manager at RPS) for being part of judging process.

    Please also see The Dirigo International Student Film festival, produced by The Film & Media Arts Production students (BA Hons) from University Centre Weston.
